A Testimony and Plan for Incredible Health and Diet

Being as healthy as one can be takes great discipline. It seems that we are as physically tempted to indulgence and bad habits as we are spiritually tempted to choose ourselves. For thousands of years, holy men and women have encouraged those who are growing spiritually to take care of the physical life.

Though God can work and help us endure through all things, it is definitely easier to serve him when we don't get in his way. Likewise, those holy men and women of old know that physical discipline is of great value because we learn to rely on the Holy Spirit in prayer and see greater ability to bring our earthly life in line with God's spiritual commands.

It is important that followers not worship the physique or the discipline or the strength but rather seek simply to be healthy and neither glutonous or slothful. Likewise, while avoiding those vices, the disciple will learn to conquer desire.

You - follower - can find greater focus, awareness, alertness and endurance to follow and to serve through healthy physical living. Though there are many different plans, we are going to share one man's journey and plan that resulted in better health and learning physical discipline. Always remember, you should consult a doctor before making any radical changes in diet or exercise. Here is One Man's Story.

Doug was diagnosed with diabetes in the Spring of 2004. His version was genetic and his blood sugar became further out of control as his triglyceride levels increased. The doctors recommended blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol medications. Doug requested a no-drug (not using insulin) program. The doctors agreed to try a radical change of diet and excercise and gave Doug three months to observe a significant change. Here are Doug's current stats compared to the beginning of the plan:

  • 143 pounds (was 161)
  • 120/60 (125/70 is okay - was 140/95 ))
  • Triglycerides 120 (<150 is good - was 464)
  • HDL 48 (>40 is good was 36)
  • Cholesterol 140 (<180 is good was 228)
  • LDL Cholesterol 80 (<120 is good was 154)
  • Fasting Blood Sugar 90 (65-90 is acceptable was 110)

Needless to say, the plan worked. In fact, most of the weight came off in the first 5 weeks. Doug reports feeling better than ever and though he still has diabetes looks to many years without insulin or other drugs. Here is the diet that did it.
