Refresh Your Browser (I'm Back)
Monday, June 15, 2009 at 01:01PM I have been wanting to write for a while now. Months have gone by and I have post it notes all over the place. The blog has been used over the years to record everything from my thoughts to extensive leadership training. Much like my chaotic life, the title has changed from "doug burrier" to "servant driven" to who knows what else.
Now, after several start up ministries and training new leaders, I find myself stepping off of boards, picking my writing and speaking more carefully, balancing time and, most of all, leaving a legacy. Christ is Good Inc. is in good hands with Karin Burrier (I still get design input) while goal7 finds itself serving well under the leadership of Timmy Haxtion, Jimmy Nipper and Angela Mauelshagen. ECMA allowed me to graciously step off the board after 12 years of service and has a great long term plan with a new CEO, Joe Durham, at the helm. After years of waiting, I have a great assistant, a ministry right hand and a tremendous staff at our local church. I find myself continuing with a lifetime ministry theme of walking with and investing in anyone that God will bring and the more time I make available for people the more people are around.
Life lessons are taught along the road of life and that road is not walked in seminars and events.
Anyway, life changes and so does the face of a long term blog. The leadership, discipleship and other writings have been catalogued and are available to the right. The theme now has a more personal tone and the default address is back to a person: Doug Burrier. Leadership articles will appear in the leadership blogs (you can RSS here) and there is a new journal, myCause, expunging itself from 9 months of trial and joy.
It feels good to type. The music blares, the coffee is cold and life settles. Welcome.
