Humble To Qualify

The thief on the cross certainly did not receive
The Kingdom of Heaven as a reward for his virtues
But as a grace and mercy from God.
He can serve as an authentic witness
That our salvation is given to us
Only by God’s mercy and grace.

Not one of us deserves the leadership, the status or the privileges that we have as leaders of people. We do not even deserve the heartache and long hours – those are too good for us as well.

What we have was given to us by others and, to all, by God. We are not better nor are we virtuous enough to merit the leadership that we have been entrusted with. Humility is one of the great forces of leadership and we need to embrace it well.
