Leaders Add To
Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 07:12AM Do not develop a taste for rich and exotic foods…
Make your diet a simple one,
And even then be careful to avoid excess.
As the scripture says:
Do not be led astray by gluttonous feasting.
Theodoros the Ascetic
Gluttony is the endless fulfilling of the desire to feed the body. Greater food experiences and greater quantities are needed. People live to eat instead of eating to live.
The richer the taste of the leader in any area - the greater the waste of assets. The greater the waste of assets – the less of God’s resources that go to preserving and spreading Faith.
Company after company and church after church watch their assets consumed by officers and pastors who can not control their insatiable desires. Physical and spiritual assets are destroyed for the short term pursuit while leaders do not stay and make the long term investment.
We should be careful what we eat.
