2000 Rebecca Krenski

She showed up at our church; quite frankly I don't remember how.  She was a bright, young and very intelligent young lady.  She was staying with her aunt for a while finishing up college.  She made an incredible impression on us.  She loved Jesus.  She was well educated in her Bible.  She had a heart for missions and had been on a few trips.

Right from the start, she had us praying for her aunt (she said "awnt" not "ant") who was  such a wonderful lady but not "saved".  Her mom and her aunt were raised in a church religion big on religion and rite but low on actually introducing people to a relationship with the God they made rite to.  Many of you might have been in just such a place.  Rebecca tirelessly cared about and prayed for her aunt.  It did not cripple her faith or devotion to her studies or God to see her aunt not respond.  In fact, I think it supercharged her faith with purpose.

Rebecca began to believe that part of the reason that she was in Atlanta for a time (her home was in elsewhere) was to introduce her aunt to Jesus Christ.  Being a Christian had made a tremendous, life changing impact on Rebecca and her entire family and she wanted her aunt to have that new life.  She was no tyrant but she was in love with her aunt and that love was the route.   Her aunt had the usual excuses, "We went to church", "We have tennis", "I know God", and "I was confirmed."  In the end, she gave up simply because she loved Rebecca and hoped if she went once that Rebecca would back off.

It has been five years now since her Aunt Linda Kyle has been a born again believer.  She, like so many others, came that "one time" and found the light of God.  Looking back now, how would we have ever done what we have done today without Linda - our fellow leader and Ambassador for Christ.

It is never too late for evangelism.  It should be the focus of all that we do.  We have our reward.  Love is the greatest motivator to share the gospel.  Passion is found in a fulfilling personal walk.  Never give up on those that don't know Jesus.  Look for God wherever you are no matter how temporary.  These are the things I learned from Rebecca.
