It's Morning

Last Night's Walk
Last Night's Walk
I woke up this morning to the sound of a beeping phone. Eric Miller - a long time friend and excellent brother in the Lord - text messages me to send a postcard...

I can do him one better as I relax looking at "Sleeping Indian" while the sun fades away the mile high fog from the valley.  I can send him this link and let him look at the photos in my Wyoming Gallery.

Last night a moose wound up in the neighbors yard and the sky cleared to reveal its evening beauty.  There was a gunfight for tourists in downtown Jackson and a dinner of elk, venison, bison and the like.  I chose trout and salad as a result of my new diet.  The trout was incredible.

I could never afford this house, nor this trip, nor this moment as a not-for-profit leader in ministry.  This is one of the quirks that Christian leaders forget about God.  His logic is not our logic - therefore, as leaders try to grab more they get less than they would ever get if they tried to grab nothing.  The cynic would tell me, "You are wrong.  Look at the wealth of those who are marketing themselves and their teaching well.  You have to provide for your family."  The cynic though is not looking at truth.  What I gain on my own I have little thankfulness for and much pride.  I find great joy, thankfulness and worship in the humility of receiving that which I committed to do without but that God chose to give me anyway.

As well, there comes with a truly not-for-profit leadership style the freedom to live content in any means that is rooted in the solid understanding of need versus privilege.  The leader who marries a person willing to live a not-for-profit life has found a blessing and a low maintenance relationship.

God's logic is not our logic - His ways are not our ways.
