God's Call or Convenience?

Linda Kyle is a true disciple and a wonderful Christian friend.  We serve together at C-Me-at-NC.  She sent me this blog the other day and I thought I would share it with anyone who would read.  False prophets make the work of the true prophet difficult.

Did you really hear from God or is it convenient to say so?

From what I've observed over the past 5 years of Christianity, Christians claim they “heard from God” or “God called them” only to find out it wasn’t God. I think people feel a comfort in saying it was from God and then others won’t question their decision because after all “it was what God told them”. They only hope things will turn out the way they want.

Then there’s the one’s that find it more convenient to say “God told them” than to tell the truth and own up to it.

Then there’s others that say “God told me……..….”, then when things change in there life they renege from their original statement and say that God now told them to do……… in reality it was never really from God. It’s what they wanted not God. They’re really good at excuses too. They try to justify, rationalize, convince others (even their self ) and then they try to explain away their situation in order for them not to look ridiculous.

It is difficult to follow or believe anyone that says “they’ve heard from God” or “God called them”. I've often questioned people’s call unless I know they’re credible Christians. I find it safe to keep it to myself and watch God move in those who’ve truly heard from God.

Linda

(remember the truths of His Word - a prophet is tested by the completion of his prophecy and we must only follow the mature - the one above reproach.)
